Saint Clare of Assisi (visit) Fr. Hans Ruygt, pastor of St. Clare of Assisi has engaged LITURGICAL ENVIRONS to work with the local architecture firm of CCBG to design the new 1600 seat parish church for the growing community in Surprise Arizona. The project is currently entering the interior design development phase.

Our Lady of Solitude Monastery (visit) LITURGICAL ENVIRONS has been working closely with the Scottsdale-based
firm of SSPW Architects to bring forth a new monastery for "The Phoenix
Phive" -- a small band of gifted young Poor Clares who are pioneering
a new monastery in the desert 60 miles west of Phoenix.

Saints Anne and Joachim Catholic Church (visit) Fr. Brian Bachmeier, pastor of Sts. Anne and Joachim, asked Steven Schloeder
of LITURGICAL ENVIRONS to assist in the planning of their new 1200 seat,
$8.5 million permanent church, which is to be the final phase of their
impressive facility that already houses the social hall, administration,
minstery and educational needs.

Saint Anthony Catholic Church (visit) LITURGICAL ENVIRONS has teamed up with McCandless Architects to design the new 700 seat, $6 million mission style church for the community of St. Anthony in Winters CA (Diocese of Sacramento). The community has outgrown their post-war church, and is finally relocating to the 5 acre site that now houses thier parish offices and social hall.

Saint Paul Catholic Church (visit) In the Summer of 2003, Saint Paul Catholic Church in Pensacola Florida asked LITURGICAL ENVIRONS to assist in the architect selection and planning of their new church facility. We helped to organize and administrate a limited architectural competition among qualified local firms, provided assistance to the competitors in the development of their proposals, and have since been working closely with the winning firm, Bullock Tice Associates, in the continued design of their winning entry.

Saint Mark Catholic Church (visit) The parish of Saint Mark Catholic Church in Denton Texas has hired LITURGICAL ENVIRONS for parish visioning, liturgical education, architectural programming, and schematic design for their future expansion project to include a new church to seat 1200, and new social, educational, and administrative facilities. |

Holy Family Cathedral (visit) In association with Koonce Pfeffer Bettis, Anchorage AK LITURGICAL ENVIRONS was recently selected as the Liturgical Consultant for the renovation and expansion of Holy Family Cathedral in Anchorage Alaska. Currently in Master Planning phase, we are working closely with the Architect of Record, Koonce Pfeffer Bettis of Anchorage, in a multi-phase design to address issues of accessibility, increased capacity, new office, educational services and rectory. Saint Therese Catholic Church After the small yet vibrant parish of St. Therese's realized they had outgrown their existing building, Fr. Patrick Brankin enlisted LITURGICAL ENVIRONS to plan and design their new 360-seat church. With a tight budget constraint for an agrarian community, we worked together to design this strong, compact, spacious, well articulated, and efficient building. This project was formally consecrated on The Feast of the Little Flower, 1 October 2000, in the Jubilee Year.

Holy Apostles Catholic Church (visit) When the Catholic communities in Eagle and Meridian, Idaho, were faced
with the need to merge into one larger parish, they engaged GLANCEY/ROCKWELL
of Boise as their architects. The challenge for the community and the
architects was "to create a new place of worship that both worked as and
looked like a Catholic church."

Saint Mark Catholic Church (visit) As part of a major capital campaign, St. Mark Catholic Church engaged LITURGICAL ENVIRONS to work with the long-range planning committee and to provide schematic design direction. The plans call for the refurbishing of the interior (from an unfortunate 1970s remodel), design for accessibility, a more gracious entrance, more spaces for devotional life, and a new Daily Mass Chapel.

Saint Anthony Catholic Church In 1995, Steven Schloeder was approached by the pastor of Saint Anthony Catholic Church, an inner city ethnic parish, to design a new Daily Mass and Eucharistic Adoration Chapel from the former rectory garage. This project, incorporating fine sandstone veneer on the "Sacrament Tower" and Chinese slate flooring, was built entirely with donated materials and labor by the parish community.

Saint Anthony Catholic Church (visit)
Saint Anthony Catholic Church asked LITURGICAL ENVIRONS to propose a new "vision design" for their existing mid 60s church. Issues of accessibility, sanctuary design, baptistery, music, devotional life, and aesthetics are now being considered. As part of the process, we have created surveys to elicit interest, incorporate feedback, and build consensus within entire parish.

The Cathedral of Christ the Light (visit) In a limited architectural competition, the Catholic Diocese of Oakland invited SKIDMORE OWINGS MERRILL SAN FRANCISCO LLP to propose designs for a new 1800 seat cathedral to replace the one lost in the 1988 earthquake. Mr. Craig Hartman FAIA of SOM invited Steven Schloeder of LITURGICAL ENVIRONS to participate in the design team as the Liturgical Consultant. In this successful competition entry, our primary contribution was to educate the highly talented SOM design team in the theological, liturgical, and architectural principles of Catholic church design.
